Happy est un titre légèrement moins connu que Down the road des C2C, il est pourtant explosif. J’adore le clip, les mecs dansent juste trop bien - ça me rappelle un peu mes cours de claquettes. A la base, je n’aurais jamais deviné que les C2C étaient français. Ils sont de Nantes et ont remportés 4 prix aux Victoires de la Musique 2013 (là où Lou Doillon avait remporté le titre de meilleure artiste féminine) : révélation du public, révélation de scène, meilleur album électro / dance avec Tetra et meilleur vidéo clip avec FUYA.

The title Happy is slightly less known than Down the road by C2C, yet it is explosive. I love the video, those guys are just amazing dancers - it reminds me of my tap dancing classes. To begin with, I wouldn’t have guessed that C2C were French. They are from Nantes and won 4 prizes at the 2013 French Victoires de la Musique (where Lou Doillon won best female artist): best public revelation, best performance revelation, best electronic / dance music album with Tetra and best video clip with FUYA.

Le 8 février dernier, la fille de Jane Birkin & Jacques Doillon et demi-soeur de Charlotte Gainsbourg a remporté le prix d’artiste féminine de l’année aux Victoires de la musique. Bercée dans le monde de la mode et celui du cinéma depuis toute petite, elle aurait désormais “enfin trouvé son monde”. Fortement encouragée par Etienne Daho, elle a enfin fait le grand saut et c’est Zdar qui a mixé l’album (Phoenix, The Rapture, Beastie Boys…).
En concert dans toute la France, Paris les 25 février et 6 avril, Biarritz le 28 mars.

On February 8th, Jane Birkin & Jacques Doillon’s daughter and Charlotte Gainsbourg’s half sister won the Victoires de la musique best female artist award. She grew up in both the worlds of fashion and cinema but now it seems that she has “finally found her world”. Strongly encouraged by French singer Etienne Daho, she has finally made the big leap and Zdar was the one who mixed the album (Phoenix, The Rapture, Beastie Boys…).
She’s currently touring in France, Paris on February 25th and April 6th, Biarritz on March 28th.

Cette chanson de Desire est juste folle ! Elle me colle à la peau et je ne peux pas m’arrêter de l’écouter. La mélodie, le texte et bien sûr l’image associée de Drive et, oh, Ryan Gosling. Vous savez le baiser dans l’ascenseur… un mot : wow.
Les paroles me font penser à mon amour du lycée et j’étais complètement folle de lui. Oh my… je ne mangeais pas, ne dormais pas, tout ce que je faisais c’était penser à lui.
J’adore me sentir aussi vivante mais le seul problème c’est que tout le reste semble juste dénué de saveur… Se concentrer sur le boulot par exemple devient complètement impossible. Alors comment trouver un équilibre ?

The term “deja vu” is being used in French as much as in English: here is how the story of 4 guys from Lyon starts. French texts on British-influenced melodies. The idea came after Mathieu and Renaud who were childhood friends had spent a year in London. “We should start a band”. “Dude, we should totally start a baaaand”. Anyway they needed a singer and hop they found François whose former band, alter ego, had just split up. Isaure joined them later. She rules the keyboard.
Influenced by rock bands from the 60’s, one of their songs is even called 1967 (“take me back to 1967”), that gives you an idea of their musical genre. I’ve already seen 2 of their concerts and I can say they are good live. Mast June they even featured as the supporting band of Johnny Halliday’s gig at Stade de Gerland in Lyon. Just that.
Their new album is coming out soon and in the meantime, you can find all of their songs on their myspace. I like the little balade Comme une ombre.
Pour mon anniversaire, on est allé à voir Klangkarussell jouer. Le groupe avant était vraiment bien, donc quand ils sont arrivés sur scène et ont commencés tout doucement, ça a un peu cassé le rythme. Beaucoup de personnes en ont profité pour faire une petite pause. Et quand cette chanson a été lancée TOUT LE MONDE est revenu en courant vers la salle principale.
Derrière Klangkarussell : 2 artistes autrichiens de Salzburg (où Mozart est né). Après un mois seulement cette vidéo avait été vue plus d’1 million de fois sur YouTube ! Maintenant ils sont en tournée en Europe. Ils seront à Paris le 05.01.12 (au Social Club), le 07.03.13 (au Moulin Rouge) et à Bordeaux et Marseille les 2 jours d’après.
For my birthday on Friday, we went to see Klangkarussell playing. The band right before them was really good, so when they arrived on stage and started slowly again it kind of broke the rythm. Many people took a little break. Then when this song started playing EVERYBODY ran back to the main stage.
Behind Klangkarussell: 2 Austrian artists from Salzburg (where Mozart also was born). After one month only this song had been seen over 1 million times on YouTube! Now they are touring around Europe. They will be in Paris on 05.01.12 (Social Club), on 07.03.13 (Moulin Rouge) and in Bordeaux and Marseille the following 2 days.
