J’adore sa voix sensible et légère. On est dans l’indie pop à nouveau, à Los Angeles. Le groupe de 4 musiciens s’est formé en 2005 et vient de sortir son premier album Mondo au début de l’année.

Ils seront en concert à Paris le 9 novembre à La Cigale.

Awake est aussi vraiment nice.

I love his voice sensible and light. We’re back to indie pop again, in LA. The band of 4 musicians was formed in 2005 and just released its first album Mondo at the beginning of the year.

They will be giving a concert in Paris at La Cigale on November 9th.

Awake is also very good.

Après l’apparition de Katy Perry dans leur Cupid’s Chokehold, c’est au tour d’Oh Land de collaborer avec les Gym Class Heroes. Clip rigolo. Musique calme.

Gym Class Heroes, comme on pouvait s’en douter, est un groupe dont le noyau s’est formé en cours de sport au lycée. USA. Actuellement 4 membres. 3ème album.

Life goes on

Désolée pour l’irrégularité dans les posts cette semaine, je m’adapte à un nouveau quotidien et un nouvel entourage donc le temps et l’énergie m’ont un peu manqués.

“One Day” est clairement la chanson de ma semaine. Jeudi soir j’étais au concert de Wankelmut, le DJ et auteur de ce remix. Organisé par ArtFeast et Candy For Richmen, la soirée était vraiment canon et le berlinois a tout donné.

De mon côté, beaucoup de danse (ça fait du sport de danser toute la nuit :p), de rire, de verres et blabla avec du beau monde. Soirée vraiment cool mais un seul hic : “j’attends” toute la soirée pour écouter LA chanson “One Day” parce que c’est la seule que je connais, et finalement vers 4h40 passés on prend un taxi pour rentrer. A 5h nos potes qui sont restés nous appellent pour nous faire écouter la chanson qui est ouuuuf. Ok merci. #cétaitcoolquandmême

Sorry for the irregularities in this week’s posts, I’m adapting to a new everyday life and new settings so I missed a bit of time and energy.

“One Day” is clearly my week’s song. Thursday night I went to see Wankelmut live, Dj and author of this remix. Organized by ArtFeast and Candy For Richmen, the party was really great and the Berliner gave all he had.

On my behalf, there was a lot of dancing (dancing all night can really count as sports I think :p), laughter, drinks and blabla with great people. Really cool night but only one hiccough: I was “waiting” all night to hear “One Day” because it’s the only song I know, and finally past 4:40 we take a cab home. Around 5AM our friends who stayed call us to make us hear the song which is aaaaawesome. Ok thanks. #itwascoolanyway

Hier soir quelques amis sont venus à la maison; en mode posé on a écouté de la bonne musique. A un moment, cette chanson est passée et je me suis dit qu’il fallait qu’elle soit sur le blog ! Donc la voici.

Fritz Kalkbrenner est le frère de Paul Kalkbrenner est un DJ + producteur allemand. Il est devenu connu avec la bande originale du film Berlin Calling et la chanson Sky and Sand qu’il a écrite avec son frère.

Ils seront en concert à Strasbourg le 28 octobre et à Berlin le 3 Novembre.

Last night I had some friends over; relaxed, we listened to nice music. At one point this song was playing and I thought that it needed to be on the blog! So here it is.

Fritz Kalkbrenner is Paul Kalkbrenner’s brother and a German DJ + producer. Got famous with the soundtrack of the movie Berlin Calling and the song Sky and Sand which he wrote with his brother.

They’ll be giving a concert in Strasbourg on October 28th and in Berlin on November 3rd.

C’est l’affiche de son nouvel album qu’on voit un peu partout dans le métro parisien en ce moment. MAI LAN est la soeur de Kim Chapiron qui a réalisé le film Sheitan (je ne l’ai pas vu mais j’ai lu ça dans les Inrocks). Styliste reconvertie, elle sort son nouvel album le 10 septembre et entame sa tournée européenne le 20. Elle est en concert à Paris le 11 novembre et à Lyon le 27 au Transbordeur.

It’s the poster of her new album that you see everywhere in the Parisian metro these days. MAI LAN is Kim Chpiron who directed the movie Sheitan (I haven’t seen it but I read it in Les Inrocks). She used to be a stylist and now she’s releasing her new album on September 10 and starts her European tour on the 20th. She’s gives a concert in Paris on November 11th and Lyon on the 27th at Transbordeur.
