En partant de Los Angeles (dont les photos arriveront dans la partie 2), nous avons longé la côte Nord (Route 101), direction San Francisco. A cause d’intempéries, la route était endommagée au niveau de Big Sur et sur une dizaine de kilomètres au Sud. Du coup, nous avons dû rejoindre l’autoroute plus récente (I-5), au milieu des terres dont le paysage est un peu moins captivant… Nous avons fait le trajet complet de Los Angeles à San Francisco en 3 jours avec un arrêt à Santa Barbara et un autre à Monterey (mais honnêtement n’avons pas vu grand chose car nous sommes arrivés tard le soir et repartis tôt le lendemain). Ensuite, nous sommes restés 3 nuits à San Francisco où vit ma copine de promo Elizabeth qui nous a montré les locaux de sa boîte Medium ainsi que son quartier et restaurants favoris (notamment Black sands et Souvla). Nous sommes repartis pour voir le lac Tahoe (2 nuits). Là nous espérions vraiment faire de longues balades après avoir passé une semaine entière à rouler et manger…. mais, manque de chance, tous les circuits étaient à plus de 7000 pieds et étaient encore enneigés. Du coup, nous avons un peu stagné. Mais plus pour longtemps vu que nous avons ensuite pris la route Sud direction Yosemite ! Et là, les randos étaient vraiment grandioses !

When leaving Los Angeles (from which the pictures will arrive in part 2), we followed the coast North (Route 101), towards San Francisco. Due to bad weather, the road was damaged at Big Sur level until a few tens of kilometers South. So, we had to reach the more recent highway (I-5) which is in the middle of the land and a bit less captivating… We made the whole trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco in 3 days with one stop in Santa Barbara and another at Monterey (but honestly we didn’t see a lot as we arrived late at night and left early the following morning). Then, we stayed 3 nights in San Francisco où my friend Elizabeth is currently settled. She showed us around, including her office at Medium and her neighboorhood with favorite restaurants (among which Black sands et Souvla). We left to head towards Lake Tahoe (2 nights). There we really hoped to be able to do long walkds after having spent a whole week just cruising and eating… but unfortunately all circuits were higher than 7000 ft, and were still covered with snow. So we stagnated a bit. However, that didn’t last for long as we took the road South towards Yosemite! where we walked the most amazing tracks!
